Objective and Research Question

Project Objectives

The TeaTwin project is developing an intelligent modeling assistant designed to semi-automate the creation of Digital Twins using existing SAP ERP data. By establishing a seamless bidirectional interface, the system extracts critical operational data to build the simulation, and subsequently feeds optimized production schedules directly back into the SAP environment. Our primary objective is to streamline the deployment of digital representations, reducing manual modeling efforts by at least 50% .

Core Research Questions

To achieve this, the project addresses three central technological and usability challenges:

  • Automated Data Integration: How can a universal, highly adaptable interface be engineered to automatically extract master and transactional data from SAP S/4HANA and translate it into a simulation-ready format?

  • Ensuring Data Integrity: What methodologies—such as automated data imputation and machine learning—can be effectively deployed to identify, cleanse, and intelligently resolve missing or inconsistent datasets during the model generation phase?

  • Democratizing Accessibility: How must the user interface and user experience (UI/UX) be structured to empower non-simulation experts to independently configure, maintain, and extract value from complex simulation tools?
